Art Exhibition at 142 Hamilton Road

I was raised in Felixstowe and know the area well. When I discovered 142 Hamilton Road, Felixstowe, was being turned into an artistic space I had to know more!

Drew Whitemore, Lisa Berry and Toby Mayhew are the founders of the creative venture at 142 Hamilton Road. All artists and have an array of ideas for the space over the next year… watch this space.

From 18th-24th April I was a resident artist at 142 Hamilton Road and loved every minute of it. Not only did it allow me to immerse myself in art, it allowed me to showcase artwork with a powerful message. Political and controversial artwork is always great for conversation and the general feedback from the public was ‘you’ve got me thinking’.

My art exhibition was themed around veganism and the exploitation of animals. I also had a vase of flowers in remembrance to all the animals slaughtered for Easter, with spectators cringing and saying ‘that makes me feel sad’.

Here are some photographs from the exhibition:

A big thank you to the artistic trio; Drew, Lisa and Toby, for giving local artists an opportunity to display their artwork in a wonderful space.
